Nancy Morrison
My work is like a puzzle. I use symbols to represent people and things in my life, intentionally ambiguous so that you as the viewer can create your own story to go with the image. I want the viewer to wonder what the "real" story is.

I create acrylic paintings and mixed media collages that convey my thoughts and feelings about my past and current life experiences as a female human on this planet. Important themes that occur in my work are, family dynamics, friendship and childhood innocence.

I have always been more comfortable with visual communication rather than verbal. I was scribbling before I could speak. I use symbols like a private language in the work. The symbols become my words and buffer my inner self leaving the viewer to puzzle out the meaning and story.
