Nancy Morrison
My work is a visual translation of internal feelings and thoughts based in part on my own childhood, adolescence and adult experiences. Using paint, drawing and collage materials I explore themes of relationships and identity, of innocence and abuse and truth by creating imaginary narratives. These narratives often incorporate bits and pieces of my actual history with my observations of the world around me.

Through the use of symbols I explore perceptions of reality and existence. At times my work masks and conceals vulnerable experiences and psychological wounds. At other times it reveals joys of the past and present.

My work develops around: a feeling, a dream, a memory, an adage, a relationship, or even by the search for the truth of existence and my own identity.
